Dreams / Visions / Words

“Veer Off! Veer Off!”

As I awakened the morning of October 25, 2019, I knew the Lord had been speaking to me throughout the night.  At first I couldn’t remember what I’d repeatedly heard Him whisper.  But a while later, as I sat praying and worshiping, the following vision and word was given:

From a bird’s eye view, I saw a wide path similar to a highway, but the lane appeared to be a mile or so wide.  It was filled with a throng of people covering every square inch of the path, all walking rapidly in the same direction.  As I watched, I heard the Lord say:

“Veer Off!  Veer Off!”

“Veer off this road!”

“Emergency, they are heading for destruction!”

Suddenly, I was down among the people as the Lord continued saying, “Veer Off!  Veer Off!”

Then I saw it! There was a path on the left side just ahead, which appeared to be an exit ramp.  Following the command of the Lord, I began to veer towards it.  Once I got to the exit, a sense of panic hit me as I could only see but a few yards ahead, and the little path narrowed to a thin walkway about 10 feet out.  Past that, I couldn’t see anything – how far out it went, the direction – nothing!

I felt great resistance rise up within, as all my physical senses were screaming, “No, Go Back!”  It was at this moment I heard the Holy Spirit say,

“This is uncharted territory.”

“Enter by the narrow gate. For wide is the way that leads to destruction.”

End of Vision

After the vision ended, the Lord continued to minister the meaning of what He’d shown.  He pointed out how I’d hesitated when I could no longer see the path, and even considered going back.

The Israelites did the same thing. They murmured and complained about their walk through the wilderness with God, continually voicing their desire to return to Egypt – back to bondage!

But when the time came they could leave that wilderness and enter the promised-land, a land flowing with milk and honey, they refused to enter in because of unbelief!

Instead of entering the rest God had prepared for them, they chose to remain in the wilderness.  Even when God allowed their descendants to enter under the leadership of Joshua, the people did not enter God’s rest as explained in Hebrews 4:8-10.  They never ceased from their own works.  Neither have we today!

The Church as a whole is on the wide path heading for destruction.  Just as the Israelites, we too murmur and complain about how wretched this world is.  But we’ve gotten used to it; it’s what we know, what we can see and measure with our senses.

The Lord’s showing a “crossroad” being presented to us, and instructing the Body of Christ to veer onto the path leading to “uncharted territory.”  If we pause to look at physical circumstances, depending upon human reasoning, we will draw back – just as I did when I couldn’t see where the path led in the vision.

Paul said there remains a rest for the people of God, those who cease from their own works.  To choose this path requires we walk in faith, according to the ways of the Spirit – not the flesh – with eyes fixed solely upon Him.

Saints, it’s decision time!

Please pray!

Scripture References:

Matthew 7:13-14, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

2 Corinthians 5:7, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

Hebrews 3:19, “So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.”

Hebrews 4:8-10, “For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day.  There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.  For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.”

Hebrews 10:38, “Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”

Romans 8:4-6, “That the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.  For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.  For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”
