Dismantling False Narratives

Regathering of Israel – Not Happened Yet!

The Lord has continued reminding of late, how just a tiny bit of leaven will leaven the whole lump.  It is appalling to listen to so many pastors and teachers; some of the most intelligent, educated, brightest minds in the church, continue to preach gross error from the pulpit.

Sadly, the following narrative is one believed by most Christians:

They believe the Biblical prophecy in which God regathers Israel from all nations of the earth, wherever they have been scattered, bringing them back into the promised land, has already occurred.  They believe it was fulfilled in 1948.  That cannot be further from the truth! Continue Reading >>>

This is a sacred cow among most Christians.  If you dare say prophesies which speak of God bringing all 12 tribes of Israel back together into the promised land have NOT happened yet, it is like throwing a piece of meat into an aquarium of piranhas.  They will attempt to devour you!

First, it should be safe to say, most biblical scholars do agree ALL Twelve Tribes of Israel are to be regathered in the latter days:  the House of Israel (northern ten tribes); and the House of Judah (Judah and Benjamin).  But the agreement ends there, as most believe the prophecy has been fulfilled.

The Bible is full of prophecies about this end-time re-gathering of Israel.  For brevity, I will mostly reference Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel for this post.  If you read these and the many other scriptures about this end-time regathering, I am sure you will see there is no way this has happened; but that in fact, it is yet to be fulfilled!

I think it helpful to first do a quick recap of the scattering of both houses, then come forward to our day – and what it means for us.  We will begin just after the division of the 12 tribes following the death of Solomon.

Solomon’s son, Rehoboam, took the throne following his father’s death.  But Rehoboam’s plan to excessively raise taxes resulted in the nation separating into two distinct kingdoms:  The tribes of Judah and Benjamin continued to follow Rehoboam as king, becoming the southern Kingdom of Judah.   The remaining 10 tribes followed Jeroboam as king, becoming the northern Kingdom of Israel

The Northern Kingdom of Israel quickly went into idolatry under the leadership of Jeroboam.  In his obsession to prevent them from returning to the House of Judah, he did several things, including:  setting up two golden calves presenting them as Israel’s “gods;” appointing non-Levitical priests; and conducting counterfeit festivals.

The Lord sent many warnings through His prophets, calling upon Israel to repent and turn back to Him; warning if they continued in their sins, they would be defeated by their enemies and removed from the land.

After their refusal to repent, the northern Kingdom of Israel was defeated and taken into captivity by the Assyrians between the years of 734 and 720 B.C., after a progression of military campaigns.  The northern tribes were first dispersed among various regions of the Assyrian empire, ultimately migrating to various nations around the earth.  The 10 tribes of the Northern Kingdom became known as the “Ten Lost Tribes” and never returned to the land.

The Southern Kingdom of Judah eventually took the same route of rebellion against the Most-High about 150 years later.  They also refused to heed the prophet’s warnings, resulting in military defeat by the Babylonian Empire.  Solomon’s Temple was burned to the ground.  The captives, along with relics and temple treasures, were taken to Babylon between the years 605 B.C. and 581 B.C.

But the prophesy for the Kingdom of Judah was they would be in exile for only 70 years, after which they would return to the land.  This took place as prophesied with the defeat of Babylon by Cyrus the Great (Persian Empire).  Cyrus granted the Jews permission to return and build a second temple.  The Temple was completed in 516 B.C.

Between the completion of the second temple and time of Jesus Christ, the rise and fall of several kingdoms had taken place: Persia defeated Babylon; the Greeks (Alexander the Great) defeated Persia; the Maccabean Revolt led to a century of self-rule for the Jews; but the Romans conquered Jerusalem in 63 B.C.  The Romans set up Herod the Great over Jerusalem in 37 B.C. as their puppet king.  A succession of puppet kings followed until 70 AD, when the Roman commander, Titus, ordered the siege of Jerusalem.

During the siege, Jerusalem was captured; the city and Second Temple were destroyed.  According to Josephus, over a million (mostly Jews) were killed.  Those remaining were enslaved, sold into forced labor or killed in the arenas.

Praise be to our God! Before the final fall of Jerusalem in 70 A.D, the Holy Spirit warned Christians to flee to Pella (the Decapolis area).  Jesus Himself had warned them about the destruction of the temple and to flee when they saw Jerusalem surrounded by encamped armies (Luke 21:20-24).

Their exodus began after the martyrdom of James in 62 A.D, with most departing between 66-68 AD, when there was a temporary withdrawal of Roman troops in 66 A.D, allowing an opportunity to escape.  Jesus’ warning was two-fold, not only speaking to His people in the first century, but to any who may be in the area just prior to His return.

Notice Peter addressing “the exiles of the dispersion” (1 Peter 1:1); and James addresses his epistle to “the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad” (James 1:1).  All 12 tribes of Israel were, and still are, scattered to the four winds.

Think about it!  The final dispersion of Judah happened in 70 AD.  By that time, the southern House of Judah had rejected the Messiah, and actively persecuting to the death those who followed Him.   God gave the word to the Christians to flee Jerusalem.  Soon afterward, judgment was rendered; Jerusalem and the Temple were destroyed.

Now ALL 12 tribes had/have been removed from the land, not to return until the time of the end when the two sticks, Israel and Judah are brought together again.  They will be no more two nations; neither will they be divided into two kingdoms any more.  (Ezekiel 37)

Try as you may, you will find NO PROPHECIES about the 12 tribes returning to the land BEFORE the time of Jacob’s trouble and return of Jesus Christ.  Keep in mind, there are Israelites scattered EVERYWHERE – with most having lost their true identity.

In the book of Isaiah Chapter 11:11-16; a second Exodus is described.

“It shall come to pass in that day that the Lord shall set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people who are left, from Assyria and Egypt, from Pathros and Cush, from Elam and Shinar, from Hamath and the islands of the sea.  He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth…  The Lord will utterly destroy the tongue of the Sea of Egypt; With His mighty wind He will shake His fist over the River, and strike it in the seven streams, and make men cross over dry-shod.  There will be a highway for the remnant of His people who will be left from Assyria, as it was for Israel in the day that he came up from the land of Egypt.”

“IT’S TO BE THE SECOND EXODUS!  Even a dry path is made for them, the drying up of the Euphrates, etc.  Notice, He gathers the outcasts of ISRAEL, AND the dispersed of JUDAH – all 12 tribes.

This has NOT happened yet!

Jeremiah speaks of this time in chapters 30 through 31. The regathering is to include BOTH Judah and Israel (30:3).

In chapter 30, verses 6-11; the gathering and rebirth of the nation of Israel is depicted as “childbirth” and it’s during the time of Jacob’s trouble.  We have the general timing of when this begins – which is during the time of the tribulation.  Notice in verse 11, God not only saves Jacob/Israel out of the nations, but He makes a full end of all nations where they have been scattered.  This is the second Exodus – not just from Egypt, but from all the nations.  Remember the condition Egypt was left in when God finally led Israel out?  This time we are looking at a worldwide Exodus of His people.  And in verse 9, when they are delivered, they will be serving the Lord their God and “DAVID THEIR KING, WHOM I WILL RAISE UP UNTO THEM!”

Saints, This has NOT happened yet!

The Big Question

If none of the prophecies have occurred which speak of the 12 tribes returning to the promised land to become one nation again, then why is it being preached from most pulpits that it was fulfilled in 1948?

Ezekiel chapters 35 and 36 are very revealing:

Chapter 35 speaks of Edom – or Esau, and how they were judged by God and removed out of the land about 70 years after Judah was removed by Babylon. Records show Esau actually assisted Babylon against Israel.  Esau was scattered and went eastward.  But Esau has always lusted after the birthright – and the land of Israel.

Notice in verse 12 of chapter 35, it says, “I am the LORD and have heard all your blasphemies which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying “They are laid desolate, they are GIVEN US TO CONSUME.”  In chapter 36, verse 5, it speaks of how Edom appointed God’s land into their possession with wholehearted joy, with spiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.

This is what Edom’s (Esau) goal has been.  They have acted against their brother, the children of Israel at every opportunity.  They infiltrated the ranks of Israelites, including the priesthood.

Jesus called them out in His day, as “they who say they are Jews, but are not.”  Revelation 3:9, Jesus says the same; “Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know I have loved you.”

Suffice it to say, the nation this world calls “Israel” is NOT Israel.  They are supplanters.  The deception and crimes against humanity involved in creating this state of “Israel” are beyond comprehension.

The conclusion of the matter:

I believe most preaching and teaching prophecies that the final regathering of Israel was fulfilled in 1948 have been deceived.  My prayer is that the veil of deception be removed.

The deception of the kingdom of darkness is very deep seated, to make the world think those occupying the land are the chosen ones.  The enemy planned this deception, using the ones who have continually tried to take the birthright and blessings of God from the true heirs; the ones who rejoiced when Israel and Judah were dispersed from the land, who wanted to occupy the land themselves.  They were used to plan and carry out the ruse of being “Jews,” when they are not!

God says His people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, and that we need to study to show ourselves approved.  There is much more regarding this topic, but we need to be good Bereans and search the scriptures to see if these things be so.

The truth of the matter is: When these prophecies of Israel coming back into the land are fulfilled, it will be a glorious time for all the earth.  The nations of the earth will turn to seek the God of Israel, to learn His ways and walk in His paths during the millennial reign of Jesus Christ!  This will be a time of TRUE PEACE AND SAFETY!

Please take what has been presented here before the LORD for confirmation and further revelation.

“Come soon, Lord Jesus!”
